Mrs. Rose Doud Neaves.
Mrs. Rose Doud NEAVES, 79, formerly of Rossville, died June 30 in Corvallis, Mont., according to word received here.
She was born January 28, 1864, on a farm north of Topeka. The farm was homesteaded by her parents, early Kansas pioneers, and later was used by Shawnee county as the poor farm.
For a number of years she made her home in Rossville, when she was married to the late E.S. DOUD, a Civil war veteran. Her son, E.S. Doud, Jr., was killed in action in the first World War and the American Legion post at Rossville was named in his honor. She was a member of the Rebekah lodge, Hamilton, Mont., and the Order of the Eastern Star in Freeman, Mo. She was also a gold star member of the Rapalli American Legion Post. She later was married to William Neaves, of Montana, who survives her.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. P.R. FELKER, of Montana; two sisters, Mrs. Anna O'MALLEY, Tulsa, Ok., and Mrs. Lula OATES, Elmont; two brothers, Ed Stamp, Junction City, and John STAMP, Odgen, U.; and two grandchildren in Montana.
The body has been brought to Topeka and funeral services and burial will be in Rossville Wednesday.
