Walter M. Nelson.
Lawrence--Walter M. NELSON, 76, Lawrence, died Sunday morning in a Lawrence hospital of a stroke.
Mr. Nelson was born Sept. 17, 1891, in Reno. He had lived most of his life in Lawrence. He was a member of St. Luke AME Church, Lawrence, and was a member of the church Trustee board, Steward Board, and Men's Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Helen MORRIS, Joliet, Ill., and Mrs. Winifred NELSON, Chicago, Ill.; four sons, Harold Nelson, Chicago, Ill., James Lue Nelson, California, Walter Nelson, Jr., 1128 Lime, Topeka, and Mason Nelson, Kansas City; two brothers, Harvey Nelson and David Nelson, both of Lawrence; a sister, Mrs. Olive Scott, Lawrence; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be announced by Bowser-Lee Mortuary, Topeka.
