New From the 23rd Kansas.
G.W. JONES received a letter last Saturday from his son, G.J.JONES, of the 23rd Kansas volunteer regiment, now stationed near Santigao, Cub. The letter states that the writer is quite ill and that he is in the hospital. Also that the rations supplied to invalids are of a very poor quality--in fact, not fit for use.
Sidney MILLER has the rheumatism so bad he is unable to perform his duty, and it is expected he will be discharged for disability.
Henry YOUNG is well and attending to his regular duties.
All of the above are Oskaloosa boys, and we have no doubt but what a large number of our readers will be glad to hear about them.
