June 12 1923 Iola (KS) register ... southwest of LaHarpe Column....
Mr. James Edmonds, an old solider, who lived on Mrs. L. Aten's farm, died
suddenly Monday afternoon about six o'clock. The funeral services were
held from the Christian church in LaHarpe Wednesday afternoon. Interment
was in the Moran cemetery. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife (Mary Elizabeth
Boring Edmonds), one son (William Franklin Edmonds), and one daughter (Rosetta
Edmonds McClung) and a number of other relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. George McClung of Goodland, Kansas and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Shenk
of Moran, were here to attend the funeral of their father and grandfather.
