Thanks for the suggestion. I normally would check courthouse records but
our forthcoming trip will be on a weekend and I expect the courthouse,
newspaper offices and libraries will be closed.

I have, however received an answer to my inquiry about the location of the
old family farm. One of the wonderful folks on this list generously looked
up information from a plat book and we think we have the location
pinpointed.

Try the Barton County Courthouse in Great Bend, you might even possibly
check
