Vivian F. Montgomery, 87, of Superior, Neb., died Wednesday, Dec. 20, at
the Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Neb. Services will be held at 2
p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at Mergrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior,
with Rev. Harold Backus officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery
in Superior.
She was born July 12, 1913 to Arthur E. Clark and Eva A. Ramsey on a farm
in Montana Township near Webber. She attended Webber schools and graduated
from Webber High School.
On Aug. 6, 1930, she was married to John L. Montgomery in Concordia. They
started their married life on a farm in Jewell County. To this union six
children were born. They moved to Superior, Neb., in April 1954, where
she worked as a bookeeper and in retail sales and maintained their household.
She attended the First United Methodist church in Superior and Olive Hill
Church southwest of Superior. She was a former member of the American Legion
Auxiliary of Superior and the Lovewell Library Club of Lovewell.
Survivors include; her children, Joan Pevler of Arvada, Colo.., Rex Montgomery
of Ozark, Mo., Joyce and husband Robert Allgood of Superior, Neb., Cheryl
and husband Darcy Williams of El Dorado and Donna and husband Bill Doan
of El Dorado; a brother Lyle and wife Hedwig Clark of Lincoln, Neb.; 19
grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives
and friends.
She was rpeceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Virgil
Clark; a sister, Bernice Burnham; a grandson, Danny Allgood; and a great-grandson,
John Michael Wyatt.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to service
time Saturday. Memorials may be sent in Vivian's memory in care of the
family, 555 Harley, Superior, NE 689778. Mergue-Price Funeral Home has
the arrangements.
