Iva Pearl Conklin, 90, longtime resident of Grenola, died Sunday, Jan.
28, at the Elk Manor Nursing Home, in Moline. Services will be held at
2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, at the Grenola Christian Church, with Pastor Wallace
Wartick officiating. Interment will be held at the Greenlawn Cemetery in
Grenola.

She was born Oct. 15, 1910 to Roy Harrison and Etta Ester (Moore) Dory
in Grenola. She attended Greenfield rural school and graduated from the
Grenola High School.

On Dec. 31, 1932, she was married to William Henry Conklin at Grenola.
She dedicated her life to caring for her family. She lived in several locations
throughout the United States, but lived most of her life in California
before returning to Kansas in 1952. She had made a home for her family
in Grenola since 1958. She was a member of the Grenola Senior Center, the
Democratic Club and the Grenola Christian Church.

Survivors include: sons, Ronald Conklin of Kansas and Donald Conklon of
Grenola; a daughter Elizabeth Featherston of Grenola; a sister, Arline
Samms of Orange, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchidren; and 10
great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her sons, Roy and Sheldon Conklin;
her parents; and a sister, Fern Lee.

Memorials may be made to the Grenola Christian Church and the Grenola Senior
Center in care of Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard, which has the arrangements.
