Mary Ruth Bracken, 73, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Susan
B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb.
2, at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Walnut Valley
Memorial Park.

She was born May 8, 1927 to Oberlin and Ruth (Stephens) Holladay in El
Dorado. She attended Oil Hill Elementary.

On Aug. 28, 1949 she was married to Charles Kenneth Bracken in El Dorado.
For many years she was an employee of U.S.D. 375 Circle School District.
She loved to bowl and was active with her children, having served both
as a Boy Scout and Girl Scout Leader.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Bracken and Gladys of Ashton; daughters,
Shelly and Dave Brown of Arkansas City, Tracey and Alan Swain of Tulsa,
Okla., and Cherri and John Cogan of El Dorado, brothers, Robert and Donald
Holladay of El Dorado; a sister, Margaret Hays of Hays; grandchildren,
Melissa Swain, Kendall and Courtney Cogan and Mike Brown; and five great-granchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Roland
Holladay.

Memorials may be made to the Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in care of
Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, which has the arrangements.
