Early Settler in Butler Dies, Burial Tuesday

Barney Doyle was buried in the Sheafer cemetery in Murdock township Tuesday, by the folks among whom he lived for many years. The services were held in the M. E. church at Potwin and under suspices of the Odd Fellows.

Mr. Doyle was about 65 years old. He died in Belle Plaine Monday, from apoplexy. He came to Butler county in 1871, settling first in Murdock township and afterward residing in Benton and Potwin.

Mrs. Doyle died a number of years ago. Ralph Doyle of El Dorado, a son, now is working in Cuba, and a daughter, Bessie Doyle, lives in California. The oldest son of Mr. Doyle, Howard, has been absent for 10 or 12 years and his whereabouts are not known. Mrs. W. W. Welter, a daughter of Mr. Doyle died last summer.
