Subject: [KSBUTLER] DICK Family Photographs
Date: Tue, 5 Aug 2008 22:28:29 -0700
I've "rescued" an old photograph identified as Gertie & Mattie DICK of Leon,
Kansas. The photographs are identical, one with the names and one without
anything written on the back of the photograph. The photographs were taken
by the Tooley & Grigsby Traveling Studio, likely sometime in the 1880's with
the two girls appearing to be about 8-9 years old at the time the
photographs were taken.
Based on limited research I as able to locate information for a possible
match in the census records as follows:
1880 census of Little Walnut, KS:
Moris DICK, age 29, born PA, a Farmer, parents born PA
Mary DICK, wife, age 26, born IN, Keeping House, parents born OH/NJ
Girtrud DICK, dau, age 2, born IA
Nannie DICK, dau, age 2 months, born KS
I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that these wonderful old
photographs can be returned to the care of their family. If you are a
member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
