Probate January 31st, 1901.

Last Will of Sarah M. Jarrett
I, Sarah M. Jarrett, a widow, of the Township of Neosho, in the County
of Cherokee and State of Kansas, declare this to be my last will and testament.

I give and bequeath to my Daugther, Fannie M. Broadley, all the jewelry,
trinkets, oranments and articles that are made of gold.

I give and bequeath to my Daughter, Caroline Broadley, all the articles,
ornaments, jewelry and intensils that are made of silver.

To my Daugther Eliza J. bigham, I give and bequeath all the china, glass
and crokery ware.

To the above mentioned Daughters are given all books, pictures and household
goods and other articles to be divided among my children as said above
named Daughters may deem best.

To my son, William D. Jarrett, I give, bequeath and devise one nineth of
all my real and personal property (except the articles above disposed of)
subject hower to the following conditions: I having already paid the mortgage
on his farm, to wit: the sum of Five Hundred Dollars so much of his share
of the estate of his Father deceased and mine now has been advanced to
him (i.e.) paid for his use and benefit. Said sum of Five Hundred Dollars
is to be deducted from his share of my estate unless on condition that
he repay said sum of Five Hundred Dollars to me before or prior to the
time when these bequests in this will made shall become operative. And
provided he shall, before the taking effect of this will, repay said sum
of Five Hundred Dollars then and in that case he is to have in full the
One Ninth of all my estate both real and personal aside from the articles
herin before disposed of, but if he shall fail to make such repayment than
the sum of Five Hundred Dollars is to be deducted from his share of my
estate.

To each of my other children, to wit: Fannie M Broadley, Caroline Broadley,
Eliza J. Bigham, The children of S. Annie Allen, deceased, John H. Jarrett,
Mary E. Crabtree, Benjamin S. Jarrett and Lydia M. Dameron One Ninth of
all my estate both real and personal aside from teh articles already herinbefore
[sic] disposed of, and including the Five Hundred Dollars heretofore advanced
to the use and benefit of my son the aforesaid William D. Jarret, which
is to be deducted from his share in case it be not repaid prior to the
taking effect of this will.

And if said sum be so repaid each of my children to have One Ninth of my
Estate real and personal as aforesaid, the children of S. Annie Allen,
deceased to take the share their Mother would be entitled to provided she
should have lived till the time the provisions of this will shall become
effective.

I hereby appoint A.E. Skinner executor of this will without bond.

In witness whereof I Sarah M. Jarrett, have to this my last will and testament,
consisting of One full sheet of legal-cap paper, subscribed my name this
23 day of February A.D. 1899.

The foregoing will as set forth on the other pages of this sheet of papaer
was subscribed by the testatrix in the presence of us, and at the same
time declared by here to us to be her last will and testament, and thereupon
we , at this request of the testatrix, sign our names hereto as witnesses
this 23rd day of February A.D. 1899 at Columbus, Kans.
