I am trying to find a burial place for the brother of my
ggrandmother - Cassius M Taylor.

Cassius was the City Marshall for Baxter Springs until June
24 1872 when he was murdered by the town mayor, JR Boyd. I
have a copy of the town council meeting from July 11 1872
where the city approved payment to a Mr J Keenan for
Cassius' burial case- $61.00. This leads me to believe that
Cassius was buried in the area. Cassius' family was further
north in KS - in Leavonworth and Wyandotte Counties and I
can't see that someone would have taken Cassius' body that
much of a distance.... in the summer..... in the heat......
if you get my drift!! Although I suppose nothing is
impossible (GG)

Is there anyone that can check Cherokee CO burial references
for anything on Cassius M Taylor?
