ALICE HOUSER - OBITUARY
From: Winfield (KS) Daily Courier, November 11, 1940

Miss ALICE L. HOUSER, 65, a resident of Cowley county practically all her life, died at the old family homestead two and one-half miles west of Rock Sunday morning at 2:15. She had been ill for some time and her death was not unexpected.
With her brother, C. W. HOUSER, Miss ALICE HOUSER lived on the farm her parents homesteaded when they came here 63 1/2 years ago from Bristol, Tenn. where Alice Houser was born Nov 2, 1875.
A brother, DAILEY HOUSER, died a few weeks ago at Wichita.
Funeral services for Miss Houser will be conducted at 2 PM Tuesday at the Swisher mortuary by Rev. C. A. Earsom of the First Christian church. Burial will be in the Star Valley cemetery.
