Mary & Lou,
I am a decendent of Cornelius or at least one of them. And according to my
grandmothers records from our May line their origin was England, the
information I have is back to 1500's but I have looked thru everything I
have and the only Sanford May I find is one born in 1830. According to what
I have when the May's came to America there were 4 boys...John, Thomas,
Leonard, & Daniel somewhere in there one of the boys Thomas seperated from
the others so records become broken. Later there seems to be more than one
John Alexander (as were so many times). I have a pic of Cornelius and have
been to his grave site, where other Mays are also buried. If this is of any
help to you would love to share what I have. Sorry Mary I wasn't more help.
