My ggreat grandfather was Joseph Cogdall. He was born 27 December 1824 near Woodsonville, Hart county Kentucky. In 1850 he married Sophia Bale whom were born a son and 5 daughters. My great grandmother was Melissa (COGDALL) WILDMAN. I know 2 of there sisters were Alice and Mary Susan. When Melissa was 4 yrs. old the family moved from KY IL. Melissa was born in 1861 in Louisville, KY.

I found the family in Garrett township in Douglas county, Illinois in the 1870 census. Was Joseph in the Civil war? He died 14 November 1896. Where was he buried?
