The computer will not let me respond to Flavia Hodges.
I am interested in your Benjamin Tracy family in Doniphan Co., KS. I notice
they came from KY and if the response you rec'd is correct / "Alvira was
born in KS", the family could have got to KS as early as 1855.
My Irish family, John & Keziah Grace moved to KS on or about 1855. 1850
census has entire family in Monroe Co., KY along with John's father, Walker
Grace. 1860 census has Keziah Grace and all children from KY plus youngest
child Laura Josephine Grace, b KS about 1855 (said to have been born in a
wagon on the way to KS.) Kesiah & family in 1860 is listed in Leavenworth
County, Kickapoo Twp, KS but no sign of husband/father John. I have been
told by a relative that a John Grace shows up in a KS state census in
Doniphan County so have been monitoring the Doniphan County information.
I would be real interested if you have access to Doniphan County records and
stumble onto a John Grace.
Where in KY did your people come from? Monroe Co, KY & White Co., TN are
real close together and seem to have an abundance of Irishmen.
