The social at the residence of Mrs. A. J. VICKERS, last night, was the
occasion of a good time for everybody, for under the management of Mr.
and Mrs. VICKERS it could not be otherwise. The evening was pleasantly
passed in conversation, and in witnessing the tableaux, which were well
got up and produced. The "Nun," by Mrs. BRANHAM, "Baptism of
Pocahontas" by Mrs. J. E. WILSON, "Country Village Belle," by Carrie
HALL, "Bridal scene" by Annie BAUER, Geo. ZAUN and Geo. BAY, "Goddess
of Liberty" by Mrs. E. V. NELLIS and "sweet sixteen" by "lasse-candy"
were all well rendered and elicited the admiration and applause of the
audience. After the tableaux refreshments were partaken of, and
everybody went home fully impressed with the conviction of having
passed a pleasant evening.
