TIMON COVERT DEAD
Madison-- Timon Covert, a retired teacher who moved to Madison three years ago from Hamilton, died Monday afternoon in Newman Memorial County Hospital, Emporia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, in the Madison Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Elmer Medsker, pastor of the Madison Baptist Church. The casket will be open Wednesday evening at the Sexton Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Blakely Cemetery.
The son of Philip and Mary Covert, Mr. Covert was born March 16, 1883, southwest of Madison. He spent most of his live as a teacher and at one time was county superintendent of Lyon County. For many years he was in the National Bureau of Education offices at Washington D. C. Upon his retirement, he moved to Hamilton and later to Madison. He and his wife, the former Blanche Johnson, whom he married Oct 3rd, 1907, adopted adopted and reared two nephews, Keith Johnson, Washington D.C., and Duane Johnson, Fullerton Calif. Other survivers are two brothers, Mark Covert, Fontana, Calif., and Walter Covert, Monte Vista, Calif. Mrs. Covert Died March 26, 1959.

The Covert Funeral
Madison -- Funeral services for Timon Covert, who died Monday, were held at the Methodist Church Thursday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. A. L. Hardy, assisted by Elmer Medsker, pastor of the First Baptist Church. A quartet composed of F. N. Powell, George W. Ott, Robert Fry and W. W. Bean sang, accompanied by Mrs. Morris Greenwood. Pallbearers were L. B. Campbell, A. C. Bean, W. J. Wiggins, W. E. Erickson, Robert Fry and Howard Johnson. Burial was in Blakely Cemetery.
