Adamson family gathers for reunion Sept. 18

A total of 93 descendants of Oscar Olmedo and Charlotte "Lottie" Carnahan Adamson and Alonzo
Ardistis and Lucy Carnahan Adamson, whose parents were Joseph Edward and Keziah Hunt Adamson,
convened on Sept. 18 for supper at the Day's Inn to work on a genealogy book and getting reacquainted
after a 12-year span since the last reunion in 1986.

On the morning of Sept. 19, several family members traveled to Sedgwick for Fall Fest where several
grew up and some family members still reside. Some family members toured Hillside Cemetery, where
many of the Adamson ancestors and descendants are buried.
The former Earl and Claudia Edgington Adamson farm and several other sights of interest in the area
were visited.
In the evening, families again gathered together at the Day's Inn for a catered dinner. The evening was
spent taking family pictures, interviewing families on video, renewing old friendships and making new
acquaintances, with many meeting for the first time and others not since the last reunion.
On Sunday morning, several people from the Oscar Anderson family gathered for breakfast at the Sirloin
Stockade before departing for home.

Guerra of Platte City, Mo.; Willis and Jean Osborn Jackson of Tucson, Ariz.; Keith and Robin Adamson
of Honolulu, Hawaii; Linda Adamson Kiesman of Kailua, Hawaii; Dick and Ann Grattan Panlener of
Milwaukee; Duane and Helen Adamson Burton of Boulder, Colo.; Katherine Barrett and daughters
Elizabeth, Kate and Emily Erickson of Aurora, Colo.; Ken and Pamela Adamson Bartley, Jessica,
Adamson (Adam), Alexces, all of Sand Springs, Okla.; Harold and Betty Adamson of Miami, Okla.;
Sharon Heath of Tacoma, Wash.; Cindy Wilder of Puyallup, Wash.; Bill and Marilee Osborn of Bedford,
Texas; Andrea Holthaus Sprague of Oak Harbor, Wash.; Tom and Carolyn Smith Riedberger, Clark and
Becky of Manson, Iowa; and Todd Dow of Denver.
Attending from towns in Kansas besides Newton were: Mike Adams, Bill and Nancy McGinn Adams
Rice, C.G. and Debbie McGinn with Kendra and Kendal, Chris and Nancy McGinn, Alec Josphine and
Riley Marie, Jeff and Stephanie McGinn, Kelby Thomas, Don and Helen Adamson McGinn, Jan Osborn
Jones, all of Sedgwick; Walter and Peggy Clark of Burrton; Lois Wassall, Phil and Darla Osborn with
Rachel, Lauren and Katie, all of Wichita; Earl McGinn and Cathy McGinn, both of Garden City ; Richard
and Kim Osborn Myers with Jacob and Nathanial of Peck; and Bruce Erickson of Parsons.
Those attending from Newton included: Ron and Judy Adamson Calbert, Eric and Ruth Calbert, Tara and
Jarod, Darin and Lisa Calbert, Abby, Taylor, Nicholas, Charlie and JoEllen McGinn Koerner, Stephen
Koerner, Dan and Charlene Koerner Vierthaler, Stacie and Kristin, Joel and Debbie Koerner, Alen, Ben,
Cole Shawn and Marie Koerner Ashcraft, Casandra and Jarrod.
