The death of Mrs. M.A.G. MARTIN, colored, occurred at her home on Nebraska avenue early Tuesday morning. Death followed a long siege of illness, and her death was a welcome release from intense suffering. She was afflicted with dropsy. The funeral service was held at the Second Baptist church yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. January who was called to Holton to officiate. Burial was in the family lot in the Holton cemetery.
Mrs. Martin was 58 years old and has spent all her married life in Holton where she has reared a large family of children. She was respected by all our citizens, and her life was an exemplification of the Christian principles which she professed and to which she clung in her religious life. She was a devoted wife and mother, and her memory will be cherished by family and friends.
