Lucy A. Carrol.

Lucy A. BARNES was born in Estell County, Kentucky, October 26, 1836, and departed this life August 16, 1912. April 17, 1853, she was united in marriage to Andrew J. CARROL, to this union were born six children, all living except one.
Almost three years ago her faithful companion was taken to his reward and since that time she has been prayerfully waiting the summons to come up higher.
When a little girl she confessed her faith in Christ and since has ever lived a consistent Christian life, her prayer has always been not my will oh Lord but thine be done.
The devotion of the children was out of the ordinary, especially the son at home, who devoted his whole time to his mother, had no other thought but for her comfort. She had been an invalid, bedridden for over three years, her suffering intensely, but she never complained, but prayed without ceasing for her family and for her summons to go.
The funeral was a large one, many friends were there to pay their respects to their old friend. Services were at the home Sunday, August 18, 1912, conducted by Elder Chas. Kimball. Interment in the Stanley cemetery.
