Old Settler Gone.
In the death of H.MOORE, Jackson county loses one of its oldest citizens, coming to Kansas in 1856 and spending nearly fifty years in this county. He possessed much of the staying qualities that are found in the general makeup of a man who can endure the hardships.
H. Moore was one of the first men to visit my cabin and the acquaintance then formed of nearly fifty years grew into friendship which I cannot easily forget. R.P.H.
