Hi list,
for those with English ancestry the Yesterdays site ,link below,
has thousands of names of persons who appear in official documentation as
they lived or passed through Derbyshire. Many of these folks lived or were
born in other counties within England and the rest of Britain as as such may
be a source of lost ancetors.

It also contains a section on Law and Order with petioners asking for relief
from the terrible conditions some found themselves in. Checkout Denby Law
and Order and Pentrich Law and Order.

The site gives a good indication of life in England through various eras as
seen through Settlement Examinations, Rogues and Vagabonds and many other
records.
