Carl HEBBE was at Lawrence yesterday settling up some business of his late brother. He informs us that the Santa Fe proposes to do the proper thing for the widow.

Everybody is glad to see Clarence BRANN so much improved in health since he left Perry. Clarence is a way up musician and has been as far east as Baltimore with the regiment band.

E. L. RAINES is spending his vacation with his brother Rial on his farm north west of town. Ernest took a kodak along with him and expects to take pictures of everything for miles around.

The annual school meeting for District 34, will be held Thursday, July 28th. A director is to be elected this year, in place of Tom KIRBY, who has held the office six years and will retire. A full turn out of those interested in schools is desired.

The second quarterly meeting of the M.E. church will be held at Thompsonville July 23rd and 24th. At 3 p.m. of the 23d quarterly conference will held, and at 8:30 p.m. preaching by Rev. R. MADISON, Presiding Elder. At 11 a.m. on the 24th, sermond followed by sacrament of the Lord's Supper.
