E.J. LARGE, at A. MARKER's shipped 48 cases of eggs to Kansas City Wednesday. This is 1290 dozen, and the price paid to the farmers wives was 13c a dozen, making a total of $167.70. A good showing certainly.

W.H. FISHER of the Daylight has two attractive windows. The Easter window is a pretty and artistic design and is very appropriate for the season. In it the millinery has a prominent place and the other window has clothing and all the furnishings for men.

Mrs. Thos. STOUT is the champion chicken raiser so far this season. On March 20th she had 124 little chickens hatched and has eight hens setting.

Mrs. BARGER of Kansas City is the milliner at the Daylight and she is preparing some artistic headgear for the ladies of this vicinity.

At a meeting of the School Board last week, it was decided to discontinue plan of sending some of the pupils home at three o'clock. Although this is frequently done in the larger towns, the plan was not entirely satisfactory under conditions that prevail here.

Dr. JONES, in his capacity as mayor, disposed of his first case of connubial infelicity on night this week, and the fatherly advise he gave to the "nervous wreck" of a man and the robust woman had the desired effect. The couple left town.

W.H. RICE. For county supertintendent E.H. RICE, places his announcement before the people this week. WIll RICE was born and raised in Union township, and has always lived an honored and respected citizen. He has taught eight years in the schools of this county, and has been a member of the county examining board for the past three years. He has all these years kept in close touch with the educational interests of the county, and is familiar with all phases. The fact that he has never asked for any county office is greatly in his favor in the contest for the nomination. His many friends all over the county will be glad to rally to his support.
