The preliminary meeting for the institution of a Rebekah lodge was held last Tuesday evening. Officers were selected, and the real thing in institution will take place next Tuesday evening with forty-five charter members.

Get your measure taken next Wednesday for a new suit of clothes at the Daylight. A man from Chicago will be here that day to take your measure.

Mr. HOSKINS and the High School pupil enjoyed themselves at a picnic in Kimmel's grove last Wednesday. The girls furnished the eatables and the boys skirmished for the water.

Roy EDMONDS goes to Ontario this week to take charge of the station for the Missouri Pacific.

T.M. CASS has resigned at city marshal.

W.R. MEANS has sent us two hen's eggs that were laid by a common old hen this week, that simply knocks anything that ever "came down the Pike." One egg measures 8 inches around the long way, and weighs half a pound; the other egg is the same size. The hen has been laying eggs of this enormous size all this spring. Mr. MEANS estimates that each egg is equal to half dozen common sized eggs, and at the present price one can readily see that there is a gold mine in this old hen. Mr. MEANS says if any one has a hen that can beat his, he will give them his bird. We are thinking of sending these eggs to the World's Fair.

Everybody should be at the Southwestern depot Saturday at 6:45 to see the band boys depart for Jarbalo on their special train.

Repentance.
I stole a kiss the other night,
Today my conscience pricks me some.
I think I'll have to go around
And put it where I got it from.

A Temperance Rally.
Next Sunday, May 15th, at the M.E. church the entire day will be devoted to the interest of temperance.
At 11 a.m. there will be a temperance sermon by the pastor; at 2:30 p.m. a union meeting at which representatives from the different churches will have part on the program; in the evening the Epworth League will observe their Anniversary Day with a program of temperance songs and recitations. Everybody is invited.
