Robbery at T.E. DICK's
Wednesday morning about 4 o'clock some one was heard in T.E. DICK's house, and Miss Maud WILLIAMS got up to find out about it. Miss EDMONDS was with her, and while they found no one, they discovered that a purse lying on the table was missing, but no other valuables. The purse contained about $20, which was Rebekah lodge money as Mrs. DICK is treasurer of that society. No clue to the robbers or money.

D.L. STANLEY, our county attorney, made one of the speeches at our picnic, and mention of which was omitted last week. It was one those good wholesome talks that Mr. STANLEY always makes and which makes him popular.

John D. WYKER, cousin of L.H. CRONEMEYER, left Friday for Fort Leavenworth to join the cavalry. He expects to be assigned to duty with his troop in the Philippines. Mr. WYKER taught school south of town, near Lawrence last winter. His home is in Beamerville, N.J.

Mrs. Lucy MOSS, of Larned, is visiting her sister, Mrs. J.H. ZABRISKIE. Mrs. MOSS was attending the funeral of her son Spencer HARMAN, at Valley Falls. Spence was a young man of bright promise, about 18 years old. He was living in Chicago at the time of his death. Mrs. MOSS returned to her home in Larned Monday night.

Rev. J.H. ZABRISKIE and wife attended the funeral of their nephew, Spencer HARMON, at Valley Falls, last Thursday. The young man died in Chicago, and was only 17 years old. Mr. ZABRISKIE conducted short funeral services and the body was laid to rest beside his father and mother.
(One article it was HARMAN, the latter HARMON.)

Duncan RUSSELL has sold his livery business to Harry DESSINGER.
