Geo. Harman Appointed Postmaster.

On the recommendation of Senator THOMPSON, President Wilson last Saturday nominated George HARMAN to be postmaster at Valley Falls, succeed O.F. FALLS, whose commission will expire on the 23rd of this month. After confirmation of the appointment by the senate and filing of oath and bond the new postmaster will take possession.
While of course there never was an appointment of postmaster or any other officer that would please all the people, it is the earnest hope and will be the constant endeavor of the appointee to see that irrespective of age, sex, color, religion or politics, friend or not, all the people of this community shall have the very best service ever received by them; and in making this promise he realizes that he has attempted the biggest task of his life; for if ever there was a town which has been blessed with accommodating and efficient postmasters, that town is Valley Fall, and if can "get by" with as little criticism as the present efficient and accommodation postmaster he will be satisified indeed.
Of course it would be impossible to live up to the recommendations filethe department by his friends--but at the same time it is hoped he will not prove so utterly devoid of virtue as would be indicated by the communications filed by those opposed to the appointment, and in the end all will be satisfied.
