Still dry at this writing but keep a stiff upper lip and the plows going in the corn.
Although it has been very dry, yet the little folks are gathering some nice strawberries.
Misses Mollie McCLURE and Mertie GEST are getting ready to attend the County Normal Institute.
E.D. McKEEVER, a promising young attorney of Topeka, visited his parents here, over Sunday May 12th.
We are informed that water is selling in Meriden at ten cents per bucket-full. It wont pay to water the milk over there.
Our young people have laid aside much of their bashfulness and are beginning to sing at Sunday school like birds of Spring, which is as it should be.
A little Blue Mound girl, who takes pennies to Sunday school, heard some carpenters conversing about eight, ten, sixteen, and twenty penny nails, innocently inquired if there was any fifty cent nails.
