Lizzie M. Miller.
Lizzie M. MILLER was born January 11, 1845, at Oneonta, Delaware county, New York, and was married to Miner S. MILLER, October 24, 1866, who died May 18, 1884, at his home near Topeka, Kansas.
Mrs. MILLER passed away at her home in Perry, Sunday July 2, 1922, where she had lived about four years with her son Frank and daughter, Lillilan.
She leaves six children to mourn her death, two children having gone on before, one when a child and one, Mrs. S.W. ROGERS of Elmont, Kans. The living children are: Delos MANLEY, of California; Floyd L., of Perry; John S., of Topeka; Mrs. Grace OSTRAND of Elmont, and the two children of the home, Frank and Lillian, and four grandchildren, one girl and three boys, a host of friends, for to know her was to love her.
And her voice we'll hear no more.
She has gonee to dwell with Jesus,
On that bright eternal shore.
Oh, how sadly we will miss her,
When we see her vacant chair,
Then we'll turn our eyes toward heaven,
For we know that mother's there.
Her work on earth is over,
And in peace we lay her down;
She's gone to live with angels,
And wear a golden crown.
While standing around her bed,
The one to her so dear,
Were watching with hearts so sad
While the angel of death drew near.
But Jesus thought it best,
To take her to her home,
And now she's singing up above,
Nevera again this earth to roam.
An while we wipe the tears away
There whispers in our ears
A voice that speaks of heaven and thee,
And bids us meet thee there.
Mother, it's hard to give thee up
And lay thee beneath the sod;
But while we mourn for thee,
They spirit's with its God.
Father has gone before,
And only had to wait;
We know there was rejoicing
When mother entered the Pearly Gates.
She fell asleep in Jesus;
Oh, how sweet;
She's gone where angels trod,
To walk the Golden Streets.
Farewell, farewell, but not forever;
We, too, will soon follow on;
There with father and mother,
To join that happy throng.
