William Carl Hoffman.
William Carl HOFFMAN, son of Charles and Frances Hoffman, was born on a farm near Thompsonville July 31, 1896. he passed away at his home in Dallas, May 6, 1956. He was graduated from the Thompsonville Grade School, Perry Rural High School, and attended Baker University. He was engaged in sales work from 1924, starting with Swift & Co., then with Iten Biscuit Co., and later with the International Harvester Co. He moved to Beaumont, Texas, in 1940, later moving to Houston and at the time of his death was employed by the Dodge Division of the Chrysler Corp. in Dallas, Texas.
He was united in marriage with Maxine Hofmann of Manhattan, Kas., on April 36th, 1941. He was a member of the Thomponsville Methodist Church, First Commander of Perry Post No. 142 American Legion, a member of Perry Lodge No. 415 A.F. & A.M.; a member of both Scotish Rite and York bodies and the Shrine in Salina.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine, two sisters, Mrs. Dale STARK and Mrs. Eva SELKEN of Perry, one niece and three nephews. Funeral services were held at the Perry Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon April 9, with Rev. Ressler in charge, burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Masonic and military services were conducted at the graveside.
