C.J. FISHER, of Baldwin visited Sunday with his sister, Mrs. Arthur SMITH and Mr. SMITH.
Bobby DICKERS of Topeka is visiting this week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. McCALL.
James GRINTER has taken a position as a welder with the Boering Aircraft Corporation at Wichita.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert RANK of Hardin, Mo., spent Saturday and Sunday at their home here.
Miss Charlene GRINTER of Kansas City spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. GRINTER.
P.H. FRAZIER and family have moved from the Walter BELL home to the Oliver property in the north part of town.
B.W. NEVINS of near Williamstown celebrated his 91st birthday last Saturday. Mr. Nevins is unusually healthy and active despite his advance years.
Corp. Truman SCHAFER stationed at Camp Robinson, Ark., spent the weekend here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.F. SCHAFER.
Miss Patricia BELL who has been attending Kansas State College arrived home Friday to spend the summer vacation.
Mr. and Mrs. M.M. TAYLOR and daughter, Marilyn of Liberty arrived yesterday to spend the Memorial Day weekend with Mrs. Taylors mother, Mrs. William GORDON and family.
Maurice R. PLUMMER of Perry was one of three new patrolmen appointed Monday to fill vacancies on the Kansas Highway Patrol. The three will not be assigned to districts until after an initial training period in Topeka.
Mr. and Mrs. George HUPE, Mrs. V. C. RAINES, Ms. Suzanne SHULTZ, Mrs. Mollie COLLEY, Mrs. Mary FOWLER, Mrs. James PLUMMER, Miss Demares GOEPFERT and Miss Mary SHIRLEY attended a meeting of the Eastern Star at Silver Lake, Tuesday evening. Mrs. DAVID, who was intitiated into the order, is a cousin of Mrs. RAINES and a niece of Mrs. COLLEY and Mrs. SHULTZ.
Miss Vivian STRANGE left Sunday with Mrs. Julia MARTIN for a three weeks trip to the northwest. They will go to Bellingham, Wash., via Salt Lake City, Portland and Seattle, and return via Yellowstone Park. They expect to cross into Canada and visit Vancouver.
