Center Items.

While Mrs. REICHERTER and Miss Mona CORKILL were on their way to Nortonville last Friday, their horse became frightened at a covered wagon, ran away and threw them from the buggy. Miss CORKILL was not hurt but Mrs. REICHERTER's face and hands were badly cut and bruised. She was also injured internally. Dr. WILSON, who is attending her says her condition is critical, but there is some hope of her recovery.

Mr. and Mrs. Claude MILLER spent Sunday with Ernest LEWIS and wife.

Mr. and Mrs. Lester RUSH, who have been visiting relatives here left Tuesday evening for their home near Sharon, Kansas. Miss Ada ROBINSON accompanied then amd expects to make an extended visit there and at Alva, Okla.

While driving cattle Saturday evening Fred McCOY had the misfortune of dislocating the bones in his left shoulder.

Allen MILLER is out of school on account of a sore eye.

Mrs. Frank CELLARS visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse MOTT, a few days last week.

T.M. and J.W. ROBINSON returned Wedneday morning from Admire, Kan., where they had been to attend the funeral of John ROBINSON, a brother of T.M.

Ed ELLERMAN and family and Mrs. Theodore SPECK made an auto trip to Emporia Friday returning Monday, accompanied by Mrs. E.T. BYERS of Hiawatha, who visited a few days with her brother, W.H. McCOY and family.

Mrs. Clarence McCOY and Mrs. Roy JACKSON spent Thursday with Mrs. Walter BROWN.

Mrs. I. SPENCER received word Saturday of the serious illness of her mother, who lives in Ohio.

J.R. MARSHALL has been on the sick list for the past week.

Mrs. Clara CONDON who is visiting her sister, Mrs. Thos. TEARE, is very low with consumption.
