Mr. and Mrs. Waldo SHULTZ escorted twenty friends to the Jack Sprat Jamboree at St. Joseph Tuesday evening. The affair was held at the "frog-hop" dance hall, was attended by 2,000 persons. The program included two items of particular interest to Oskaloosans, an amateur contest and a style show.
Dr. and Mrs. C. S. HOOD of Ferndale, Wash., spent a day last week at the Frank HAINES home. And on Saturday Mr. and Mrs. RAINES entertained Mrs. Linna SWARTS of Medicine Lodge and Mrs. Mary CORBETT of Flint, Mich. Mrs. SWARTS was a former neighbor of the HAINES at Medicine Lodge, tells them there are now twenty oil wells on the old Haines place some of them right in the door yard.
Relatives and friends held a turkey dinner Sunday at the Jim GIBSON home in honor of Mrs. Ruth Gibson JACKSON and friend, Mrs. REMINGTON, from Los Angeles, Calif. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. T.H. BOYD, Mrs. Ina LEAVERTON and Mrs. Anna ROGERS from Winchester, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. GIBSON and Delores from Ozawkie, Mr. and Mrs. Don ALLEN, Mr.a nd Mrs. Glen ROGERS and Mary Jean, Mr. and Mrs. Warren NOBLE, Lee GIBSON and family and Mr. and Mrs. Jim GIBSON of Oskaloosa.
Removal of the Albert KRESIE family form the Stevens corner residence property to McLouth opens the way for several moves in Oskaloosa, which are scheduled to take place first of November. Mr. and Mrs. Brick P. DAVIS to the STEVENS house, Mike BROWN and family to the residence the DAVISES are leaving, that is the former Harcourt property on north Liberty which Mr. BROWN recently purchased; the Floyd SEYB family to succeed the BROWNS in residence at the SINNARD cottage first west of the Fox grocery; leaving the Chas. GOLDEN house temporarily without a renter.
Mrs. Albert WRAY came up from Kansas City today (Thursday) and said she and the children would go to southern Illinois to join Albert, who is working in the welding department of a government factory. Their household goods will be stored and they will take an apartment.
