Elmer L. Wilson.

>From the Douglass Tribune of October 24, the Independent reprints the following paragraphs concerning Sadie Pottorf WILSON's husband, whose death was mentioned in our last issue:
"Douglass lost one of it finest citizens last Friday, October 17, when Elmer L. WILSON, owner of the Wilson Bros. drugstore, died in the hospital at Winfield, where he had suffered ten days with cornonary thrombosis. Some idea of the popularity of Mr. Wilson in his home community is gained from the item that when it became known he would need several blood transfusion 75 persons volunteered the first day.
He was born March 4, 1884, had resided at Douglass since 1917. He was married to Sadie POTTORF in 1916.
He was the first president of Douglass Civic Club, served as mayor of the city, was a civic leader and booster. He was a member of the Methodist church and of local Masonic bodies.
He was beloved by young and old, his store was a model of propriety and satisfaction to customers, it was the meeting place of school students, and during his illness and after his death many, even down to grade pupils called at the home to offer sympathy. The funeral was one of the largest ever held in Douglass."
The old time friend of Mrs. Wilson at Oskaloosa share in the saddness of her bereavement. She was a teacher in the Douglass schools before her marriage, and thereafter was often called upon for extra service. She has assisted in the store, particularly in recent years during which Mr. Wilson has had precarious health and has shared with him many avenues of community leadership.
