Janie and Mike BEACH who had their tonsils removed last week in the Lawrence hospital recovered nicely and Janie was able to enter school on Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. J.H. McCOY of Topeka spent Labor day at the home of his father Mr. Chas. McCOY and wife. They had all been guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clayte McCOY, Valley Falls on Sunday.

Betty Jean SCOVILLE, Millie NEAL and Leslie LANE who are employed in Topeka, spent Labor day vacation at home. Leslie stayed over an extra day.

Mrs. Tena CLARK returned Monday from Dennison where she had spent a few days with Mrs. Vera WARREN and children. Mrs. WARREN's husband has been in the armed service for some weeks.

Miss Nina DAVIS who is with the Santa Fe in Topeka spent her Labor day vacation with her mother, Mrs. Belle DAVIS and sister Mrs. Nona CROSBY.

Mrs. Carl STEBBINS and Mrs. Osceola POOLER spent Wednesday in Nortonville at the home of their brother Mr. Earl WEISHAAR and wife. They were also guests of the Welfare Club at the home of Mrs. Parker NICHOLS.

The Tom DAVIS, Chas. Long and Eli BOWEN families attended the annual ZIMMERMAN family reunion at Hiawatha, Sunday.

Mrs. B.W. BUBB and Mr. and Mrs. L.E. HEATH and children Gary and Carol were visitors Sunday in the home of Mrs. W.H. PATRICK.

Donald, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo HEIBASCH, who has been in S.B.A. Hospital seven weeks for ear treatment returned home on Friday and was able to enter school on Monday.

Mrs. Robert BROWN and son Bille, Mrs. James CRABTREE and daughers Marcella and Jacqueline and Johnnie DUNCAN of Kansas City were dinner guests Monday at the Harry BROWN home.

Mrs. Miami BROWN visited over the weekend in Atchison with her brother R. W. TROWER and family.

Mrs. Lena HUDSON entertained with a 7 o'clock dinner, Saturday evening for Mrs. Walter MEANS and daughters, Juliann and Nancy, Mrs. Ralph DAVIS, and daughters, Dorothy, Imogene and Lucile MEANS and her daughter Sue Ann from New York and Velma and Helen BROWN.

Elizabeth PERRY, Roxy PITTS and her friend Mrs. Dan ANDERSON were here from Kansas City for the Labor day holiday.

A.C. WILSON was down town Tuesday for the first time since his illness began. He is vastly improved, has gained several pounds weight.

E.W. SHELDON spent the day Tuesday visiting in town. He lost around forty pounds weight during his recent illness, has regained over a third of the loss and feels much encouraged.

F.H. ROBERTS who has been confined to his home about three weeks is hoping to attend the old settlers reunion and sit on a bench with the oldsters. Until this year he has always counted himself with the young crowd b current illness has reduced his friskyness.
