Raymond Albert is the name give to the son born Sept. 7, to Mr. and Mrs. Raymnd HARVEY of Topeka. He weighed 8 1/2 pounds and having the name of both father and paternal grandfather has a fine start in life.
Mrs. Bertie LONG, Mae SAMPLES, Millie LONG and daughter, Shirley, Mrs. Chester SMALL and Addie UNDERWOOD of Topeka spent Saturday afternoon and evening at the Old Settler's picnic.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom SHARKEY moved into town this week after having sold their farm south of town, and are occupying the former Mrs. Belle AUSTIN home.
Callers Tuesday upon the Charles and John DECKER families were Mrs. Lena SINGLE and daughter, Mrs. Glen WALKER, of Peoria, Ill. Mrs. SINGLE's name was TIEMEYER, she is a first cousin of the DECKER brothers.
On the afternoon of September 2, music pupils from the clas of Mrs. Jennie DAVIS played a program with the mothers as guests. Taking pare were: Charles MILLER, Norma Sue FELTS, Bobbie BROWN, Ruth WALKER, Alverta BANKS, Doris GANO, Jean and Janet BOWEN, Barbara NICHOLS, Margaret BROWN, Patricia BURTON, Betty DOUGLAS, and Eva Ann BIERY. Part of the class was unable to be present.
Following the program, refreshments were served.
