Sarah E. GARDINER was born in Platte county, Mo., May 1, 1853, and after a short residence with her parents near Winchester, the family came to Jackson county in 1857 locating 1 mile north and 1/2 mile east of Denison where she spent her girlhood days excepting what time she attended the public schools of Leavenworth. July 31, 1871 she was married to Alfred C. TAYLOR . Three children were born to them, the youngest dying in infancy. The other two, Alfred M. of Denison and Mrs. J.M BARNETT of Soldier, together with three brothers, Henry, Thomas and George GARDINER, and one sister, Mrs. Geo. RUNKLE, survive her. Her husband died Sept 22, 1906 and Mrs. Taylor's spirit took its flight Nov. 30, aged 56 years and 8 months. She embraced the Christian religion in early life and endured her short but severe illness with Christian fortitude. Funeral services were conducted by J. HOPKINS, minister of Denison Christian church, assisted by D.H. Elliott, pastor of the Reformed Presbyteria!
