Mrs. Mike ANDRE underwent a major operation at the SBA hospital at Topeka Tuesay morning.

Mrs. Jessie BELL was a holiday week visitor in Oskaloosa. Says she likes to live in Hutchinson, it now seems like home; Barbara, who is a junior in the high school, has also become adusted to the western city.

Mrs. Fred CHAMPION, register of deeds, enjoyed holiday visits form Mr. and Mrs. Harold CHAMPION of McLouth, Mr. and Mrs. Donald BOWERS and family, Wichita, Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick CHAMPION, Kansas City, Kansas.

Tommie WILLIAMSON came December 21 to spend four days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ab. WILLIAMSON. he is employed in a steel mill in the Los Angeles area, engaged in defense manufacturing. Mrs. WILLIAMSON is employed in the city. This was Tom's first opportunity to come home since they removed to the coast four years ago last May. He says they are greatly pleased with life in Southern California an dhave no desire to return to Kansas.

Mrs. Bertha McCLURE, Mrs. Frank LANGSTON and son of Topeka were guests last Thursday of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde COOK. Mrs. McCLURE suffered a stroke at her Topeka home Friday evening. She is some better at this time.

Mrs. Jessie HUDDLESTON came home Tuesday from Christ's hospital where she recently underwent a major operation. She is making satisfactory recovery. Don HUDDLESTON left Tuesday night for his home in South Gate, Calif.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob CROUCH attended the wedding of his sister, Rachel CROUCH and Robert GUERRY of Ft. Leavenworth Christmas eve. The ceremony was performed at the CROUCH home in Nortonville.

Lewie DAVIS and family of Waterville, Miss Nina DAVIS of Topeka, Mr. and Mrs. Genseler EDMONDS and daughter of McLouth spent Thursday with Mrs. Belle DAVIS and Mrs. Nona CROSBY. Mrs. DAVIS and Mrs. CROSBY spent Sunday in McLouth with Mr. and Mrs. EDMONDS.

Warren COX wrote us about his trip to Baltimore, stopping at Chicago and teeming Washington landing at Baltimore, where he is working in an airplane plant. There he found Marlin ALEXANDER and Ted Montgomery, two Oskaloosa boys. Warren is living on Halcyon street and halcyon means peace and quiet. Don't know about that in Baltimore at war time.
