Mrs. Ann LOBB who has been assisting this winter at the home of Mrs. Lucinda STOUT spent March 30 and 31st with her daughter, Mrs. Walter SHIRK and family near Lawrence and reports Mr. SHIRK who was injured last summer by a hay baler has improved and able to walk around quite well.
Mr. Dave EDMONDS formerly of McLouth and son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert EDMONDS is still a patient at St. Johns hospital, Leavenworth caused by appendectomy.
Don HUDDLETSON and Roscoe JENKINS got back from Los Angeles last weekend arriving at Oskaloosa Sunday, just in time for the return engagement of wintry weather. But, acknowledges Don, it was rainy in California, so there were no gain there. Don notes that things are a lot different in the big city even since he came to Kansas and that not for the better. "Mike's comment is that one doesn't have to be crazy to live in L.A. but it helps.
Roy PYLE who has been in the service in Germany was discharged Tuesday afternoon in Leavenworth. Mrs. Roy PYLE arrived Monday and both were guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse PYLE. They returned Wednesday to Neosho, Mo., where she and their daughter have resided with her parents during his absence.
Mr. Hollie BROWN, Denver, Colo, arrived Monday, April 1, in response to the message, the death of his father, Mr. Robert D. BROWN and returned Thursday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Irvin DAVISON and Mr. and Mrs. John WHITE drove to K.C. Sunday where they spent the day with their children.
Mrs. Robert KIMMEL and daughter Judy, left Wednesday evening for North Manchester, Indiana for a visit of about two weeks with her president of North Manchester college.
Mrs. Albert LOBB who was ill last week has improved and is able to be about again.
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas DICK and daughter of Long Beach, Calif., and friend Howard KENNEDY of Oklahoma spent Saturday until Tuesday at the home of former grandmother Mrs. Kate BROWN and children.
James KIMMEL fell yesterday Apr. 10 from a building and sustained such injuries as was necessary to remove him to Lawrence Memorial hospital for care.
