Scatter Creek school had its closing day Friday of last week and was well attended, a swell dinner and good program was the report and the teacher Mrs. Mary MEANS was rehired.
Sgt. SEIFERT, who served 23 months overseas, as a Cargo Checker is authorized to wear the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon. He was inducted into the Army Sept. 14. 1943.
Miss Eunice KIMMEL of Kansas City arrived Friday evening to spend the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. L.H. KIMMEL.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl CARTER and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph STOUT and granddaughter, Marta Kay left Tuesday following the Osborn reunion Saturday April 14.
Mrs. Anna LOBB who has been assisting at the home of Mrs. Lucinda STOUT has gone to the home of her son, Ray LOBB and family where she resides.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl THORMAN accompanied Billy YONALLY, all of Olathe, Kans. to McLouth Sunday afternoon and were also accompanied by latters parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer YONALLY, Tonganoxie. Mrs. Carl THORMAN will be better known as the former Miss Dorothy HENDRIXSON who was a former Music Instructor in the schools and called on Mr. and Mrs. Eric STEEPER where she stayed during the time and also called on former pupils, besides visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert LOBB.
Miss June STEEPER who is music instructor in the school at Wakeeney, kansas spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eric STEEPER and attended the Sunrise Easter service and also the Sunday School Service at which there were one hundred fifteen present.
Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold SANDERS were besides Miss Violet and Esther LUSE of Leavenworth who spent the weekend returning Sunday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Darrell LUSE and son, Omer of near Leavenworth and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer LUSE and Mrs. Alma SANDERS.
