Friends of the McKEE family were deeply grieved to learn of the death of James McKEE. Jim had been in the service for some time and had been on several missions over enemy territory, before he was wounded. He had been sent back to the States where he was confined to one of the best hospitals in the U.S. Despite all medical aid he passed away. Jim attended school here and grew to young manhood in this neighborhood. Services were held at Rumsey Brothers in Lawrence and burial was at Burlingame, the former home of Mr. and Mrs. McKEE and family.
