Mr. and Mrs. Paul SCHUSTER entertained with a family dinner Sunday in honor of their son, Leland of the U.S. Navy. Leland returned to the Great Lakes Wednesday after enjoying a 9-day leave.
Rev. and Mrs. Charles R. KLINGMAN were dinner guests Sunday of Mrs. Ida STEFFEY.
Mrs. Nellie METZGER and daughter, Cleta of Topeka were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank STEMBER and Jimmie, Sunday.
Mr. Henry GISH had the misfortune to have his leg broken in two places below the knee last Thursday while cutting timber along the river. He was taken to the St. Francis hospital at Topeka.
Miss Beverly STEMBER spent last weekend at Lawrence with her sister, Miss Muriel STEMBER who is attending K.U.
Aunt Jane PUDERBAUGH was the honor guest at a family dinner at her home last Saturday, when she celebrated her 95th birthday. Her daughter, Mrs. Eva SWEENEY returned to her home in New Jersey, Sunday after spending the past several weeks here.
