Wentz-Elgin Marriage Announced.
Mr. and Mrs. James WENTZ of Topeka announce the marriage of their daughter, Ethel Marie, to Mr. Glenn Harold ELGIN of Kansas City. The wedding took place at the Wentz home in Highland Park, Topeka, New Year's Eve, December 31, 1931, in the presence of members of the immediate families, with Rev. VERDLER of the Methodist church of Highland Park officiating. The date chosen was the forty-sixth wedding anniversary of the bride's parents. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Ruth Wentz, and the groom was attended by Dillman FRYE of Burlingame.
Although Miss Wentz had completed high school at Meriden, Kansas, before the family moved to Burlingame, she lived her long enough to make many friends. After high school she took a business course at Strickler's Business College in Topeka and for a number of years she was employed in the Salyer Produce Company in Topeka, resigning her position with them for her marriage.
Mr. ELGIN is also well known in and about Burlingame, having lived and worked with the farmers in this community. He is at present engaged in the restaurant business in Kansas City.
Following the ceremony a reception was held and refreshments were served. Amid the congratulations and hearty good wishes of their friends, Mr. and Mrs. Elgin left for Kansas City where they will make their home.
Guests at the wedding from Burlingame were Mr. and Mrs. A.D. WENTZ, and family, and Dillman FRYE and Louis ELGIN.
