ROLL CALL
I would like to introduce myself as your new list master for Jewell
County KS. My Grandfather Lucius Edgar RANSOM got a patent in 1869 in
Ionia Twp. as did his mother, Minerva ST JOHN, and went back to WI where
he married a Maria STREVER. Maria died in childbirth, the child died a
few weeks later. They are buried in Ionia Cemetery. He then returned to
WI and in 1876 married Lucetta Minerva KENNEDY, bringing her to Jewell
County, where she bore 6 children, my father being the youngest, b.
1886. Other family surnames names would be MICHLER, REMILLIARD, SPRAGUE,
CRAIG all pre 1900. I still have a second cousin (JessieKENNEDY MUCK)
who lives in Mankato.
We have 29 subscribers to this list. I would like to have a Roll Call of
names you are researching in this county, and be sure to try to put in a
time frame for your research. Please capitalize the surnames, and put
them in the subject line. Also I would like to point out that the 1880
