J.H. Lumm, Farmer, Victim of Pneumonia
Jesse H. Lumm, 46, farmer living on route 4, died at 4:10 am today at his
farm home, where he lived all his life. he had been ill 13 days with pneumonia,
which caused his death.
Mr. Lumm was born Feb. 11, 1890, on the farm where he died this morning.
During the near half-century that he lived here, he had made many friends,
and was highly respected by all who knew him.
He married Ida Van Middlesworth on March 13, 1909, at Canton, Ill. Surviving
him aer his widow, of the home; two sons, Emmett R. Lumm of Parsons and
Harold W. Lumm of route 4, Parsons; his mother, Mrs. Alma Lumm, North 22nd
stree; two half sisters, Mrs. Hattie Essig North 22nd, and Mrs. Maud Yandell,
Labette; one brother, Aaron Lumm, route 4, Parsons, and one half brother,
Harry Lumm, Labette.
Funeral services will be held at the residence on route 4 at 2 pm tomorrow,
April 16, with Dr. J.M. Kersey officiating. Burial will be in Labette cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Kersey-Jones funeral home here until
10 am tomorrow, and friends may call there.
