HI, Laura. Fianlly had time to research. The Labette Co 1905 census is not indexed in Topeka so am unable to search that as there were close to 20,000 people in the county. I did check the 1900 census and found a John and Mary Gilbert living in Richland Township and another John and Mary Gilbert living in Chetopa. Since I was using the Soundex, I can tell you there was no John or initial J Gilbert with a wife named Lucinda in the 1900 Soundex.
