Was your name suppose to be Goodwin? I heard my mother talk about Ike Goodwin from that town he is buried in the cemetery in Edna, Kansas I had a GreatUncle that was a orphan that lived on the Ike Goodwin Ranch that was around 1897. I think it was in Valeta. but closer to Oklahoma border line. The cemetery is called The Elm Groove Cemetery I have a picture of Ike's grave..I heard the name Verlie I will talk to my mother and see what she says about that name.. You might try Tulsa Oklahoma alot of people from that area moved to the Oklahoma area at least by 1900 I found a Goodwin living with a widow relative from Edna listed as a border in 1920. in the Tulsa Ok area..Hope I helped .. Go to Edna and talk to Mr.Stine the Mayor of the town he knew the Goodwins from the past.. Hope I was of some help, Susan Medlock my ancestor was Harris, Walts, Neville, Mason, Carey, Young.
