Where in SD do you live?? I'm in the Rancho Bernardo area.

When my sister and I were there we only went to Parsons, but that is
were our lines had all lived. This trip was mainly to visit all the
cemeteries where we took about 80 photos of headstones. I had several
people that I had nicely trimmed obits with out the date of deaths and I
really needed that information and their headstones did not let me down.
We also just wanted to drive around and look at out grandparent's old
farms and visiting places from our childhoods.

You should be able to find a lot of information in Oswego. That is
County seat for Labette County, the court house, the registrar of deeds,
and in short all of the county level records. The registrar of deeds is
named Donna and she is genealogist and has helped me get land records in
the past. Most of the old records are on micro film that you can get
through a Family History Libraries so I put that further down on my list
then the headstones.

I don't know where else in Kansas you will be going but the Kansas
Historical Society in Topeka has every newspaper that was ever printed
in Labette County on microfilm. I plan on spend lots of time there on
my next trip to KS. You might want to check them out.
