Edith Ruth Hollyman

Edith Ruth (Craven) Hollyman, 86, of Toledo, died of natural causes Jan. 14, 2005. She was born to parents Mary Urena (Hinton) and John Oliver Craven on Aug. 13, 1918 in Russell Springs, Kansas.

She moved from Kansas to Colorado at an early age. She married and moved from Colorado to Siletz in 1937. She settled with her family in Toledo in 1946. After raising her family, she worked for West Coast Laundry in Newport until retiring in 1987. In her later years, she enjoyed her senior friends and their Tuesday outings.

Her hobbies and interests included time with family, horses, crossword puzzles, reading, gardening, bowling, traveling, and watching country music videos and sports on television.

She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Frank Hollyman; daughter Shirley (Hollyman) Gold; stepson Dean Hollyman; granddaughter Julie Bogaard; brothers Warren Craven, Donald Craven, Forrest Craven; sisters Olive Younger, Billie Harmon, Velma Perkins; and two half-brothers John and Wesley Craven.

Survivors include son Clinton Hollyman; daughters and sons-in-law Patricia and Floyd Ferguson, Bonnie and Robert Bogaard of Toledo, Sue and Dallas Cook of Seaside; Debbie Hollyman of Seaside; Joyce Hollyman Bridges of Eugene; sister and brother-in-law Helen and Craven Sheard of Colorado; cousin Floyd and Clara Miller of Springfield; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and another due in August; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at Bateman Funeral Home 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 22. Interment at Eureka, and reception to be held at St. John's Episcopal Church in Toledo.

Memorial contributions can be made to family memorial fund in care of the Bank of the West.
